Figure skating coaches

Zhanna has been skating since the age of 6 and joined Colonial Skating Club a year ago as part of the coaching team. Zhanna successfully competed in many competitions over the years in freestyle back in Russia and became a figure skating coach by the age 18. So, she speaks both English & Russian. Zhanna is helping young skaters and competitive skaters to learn and appreciate the art of figure skating and establishing strong connections with skaters’ families. Zhanna’s biggest strengths as a coach are dedication in creating the best possible skaters, determining strengths and weaknesses of students, understanding the needs of younger skaters, and maintaining excellent communication and presentation skills. Zhanna is a member of USFS and earned a degree in business from Temple University.

Kara has been skating since this age of 3 & has been part of the Colonial Skating Club for the past 20 years. She is a USFS Gold Medalist in Skating Skills, Pre Gold in Dance & has competed in many competitions over the years in freestyle. She has been a Silver & Bronze Medalist at Keystone State Games & a Gold Medalist at Philadelphia Areas Championship. Kara works with skaters from beginner to adult including our hockey Tier 1 teams & players. She was involved with the development of the Colonial Accelerated Program & Hockey Initiative Classes as well as our figure skating camps & clinics. As skate director she has facilitated all of our Learn to Skate Programs & freestyle sessions helping our rink achieve being ranked #7 and #3 in the state over the last 2 years. She is a member of USFS, PSA & earned a degree in psychology. Kara also organizes and oversees birthday parties & events at our facility.

Andrea has been a figure skating instructor & choreographer for beginner through competitive skaters since 1999. She holds accreditations, certifications, and tier 1 coaching ratings from United States Figure Skating (USFS) and formerly the Professional Skaters Association (PSA). She teaches group and private lessons in Freestyle, Skating Skills, Artistry and Choreography, and Power Skating. Her students include skaters of all ages, from youth to adult, and some of her young competitive skaters have continued to become collegiate athletes. She is a former USFS regional freestyle competitor, with multiple podium placements at the Keystone State Games and Philadelphia Areas Championships. She was also a company member and soloist with a semi-professional touring dance ensemble, bringing over 16 years of ballet and character dance training to the ice. Andrea holds a BA in Communication from Penn State University and currently works in marketing/public relations for a Fortune 500 company. Andrea uses her experience and qualifications to teach her students technical skills as well as the art and performance of our sport, but also to develop self-confidence, good health, and fun on the ice!

Coach Amari is a passionate figure skating instructor dedicated to helping skaters of all ages and abilities achieve their goals, from tiny tots taking their first steps on the ice, to the more advanced skilled skater. With a focus on building strong fundamentals and fostering a love for the sport, Coach Amari creates a supportive and encouraging learning environment. With a unique blend of technical expertise and a playful spirit, Coach Amari makes learning fun and engaging.

Nicole has been skating since 10 years old and member of the Colonial Skating Club for over 15 years. She was a regional USFSA competitor. In addition to coaching skaters ranging from toddler to adult, she is an inclusive full day kindergarten teacher in the Bensalem Township. She is extremely patient and kind with all skaters and nothing brings her greater joy than sharing her passion for the ice with others. She supports all skaters goals when learning to skate, competing, and playing hockey. Nicole can’t wait to see you on the ice!

Niki has been skating since 1992 and coaching for almost 25 years. Niki is member of USFSA. She is a double USFSA Gold Medalist in both Skating Skills and Freestyle. She was a freestyle competitor for many years. She was also a North Atlantic Regional competitor. She has coached in various rinks throughout the area. She has been a part of the Colonial Skating Club for over a decade. Niki works with all ages and levels. She specializes in Freestyle, Skating Skills, Choreography, Power Skating and off-ice strength and conditioning training. Niki is also a certified personal trainer and graduated from the National Personal Training Institute in 2008. She has worked in various gyms instructing group and personal training. She has worked with many different fitness levels. Niki is also certified in Basic Nutrition and is Kettlebell Weight Training and TRX Training certified. Niki also has a degree in Liberal Arts from Burlington County College.

Lexi has been on the ice for more than 20 years. She is a USFS Gold Medalist in Skating Skills. Her love for figure skating has continued into adulthood and she is an adult figure skating international and national medalist. Lexi is passionate about teaching the future generations the love she has found in figure skating. She knows every skater is unique and aims to help them develop their own skills and passion for the sport.

Judy began her skating career competing in various competions and has performed in multiple ice shows. She spent summers training in Canada at the Can -Am Figure Skating School. Judy has been coaching since 1985 as a USFigure Skating Coach and Learn to Skate Instructor and has coached all levels in competitive figure skating including National Showcase. Judy was the former Skating Director At Face off Circle for over 25 years. Judy currently teaches Moves in the Field, choreography , power skating and FreeSkate and she coached Synchronized skating for over 10 years. Judy earned her Bachelors Degree in English from Temple University.

Lauren has been on the ice for more than 25 years. She is a USFS Gold Medalist in Skating Skills and is a certified USFS coach. Her love for figure skating has continued into adulthood and she has competed nationally and internationally on the adult level. She enjoys working with skaters of all ages and skill levels and understands that each skater's journey is unique. Lauren is passionate about sharing her love for the sport with her students and hopes they learn skills that can be applied both on and off the ice.
