MEET THE COACHES

LADY ROYALS HOCKEY DIRECTOR

The Lady Royals Girls hockey program is extremely excited to introduce Meghan Toomey as the programs Hockey Director. Meghan has an extensive background both as a player and a coach and will be an integral part of growing girls hockey and developing the Lady Royals program as one of the top girls programs in the Atlantic District. Meghan played four years of NCAA Division I hockey at St-Lawrence University where she was inducted into the St-Lawrence University Hall of Fame in 2017. After college, Meghan played professional hockey in the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) and she finished her professional playing career in Lugano, Switzerland.

Meghan's coaching resume includes; Assistant Coach of Colgate University NCAA Division I, Head Coach of Kents Hill School, Head Coach of Junior Flyers 8U and 12U and currently coaches at the Hill School in Pottstown, PA where she also serves as the Associate Director of College Counseling. The Lady Royals are thrilled to grow the game of girls hockey under Meghan's leadership.

ASSISTANT HOCKEY DIRECTOR

Patrick grew up in Rauma, Finland and started playing hockey at a very young age. He moved to the United States and played for the Valley Forge Minutemen AAA and Malvern Prep High School. He returned to Finland after graduating from Malvern to play Junior Hockey where he spent the next 3 seasons. After Juniors, Patrick spent some time playing in North America in the FPHL and the LNAH semi-professional leagues. He finished his playing career overseas in Sweden playing professionally for Hallefors IK and Grums IK. This is now his second season working for the Wintersport Royals organization serving as assistant hockey director and coach. He coached the Royals 12U A team to a silver division championship in his first year as a coach. This season he is coaching the Royals 13U AA team.

Coaching Philosophy 

Combination of the North American and European style of hockey systems and skills. Patrick emphasizes skill work, development, sacrifice, team play, and effort. He focuses mainly on age-appropriate skill development and high intensity training.
